These Terms of Use govern the use of the Credio application and related services ("Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, users agree to these terms.

1. Validity and Scope

These Terms apply in their current version to all users of the Service.

Should individual provisions of these Terms be invalid or unenforceable, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.

The operator may amend or supplement these terms and conditions in the event of legal, technical, or operational changes. Updated versions will be published on the official Credio website.

2. Definitions

"Operator" refers to the person who operates the Credio service.

"User" refers to any natural person who registers for or uses the service.

"Service" refers to the Credio digital notebook and communication system.

3. Type of service

Credio provides a digital documentation tool that enables users to record and manage account-related entries and communicate via an in-app messaging function.

The service is provided free of charge.

In particular, the Service does not constitute:

  • A banking service
  • A financial institution
  • An accounting service
  • Tax or legal advice
  • A regulated payment system

4. User obligations

Users are responsible for:

  • Providing truthful and accurate information
  • Keeping their access data confidential
  • The lawful use of the service
  • Verifying the accuracy of their own entries

Users may not use the service for illegal, fraudulent, discriminatory, or abusive purposes.

5. Data processing

Personal data is processed in accordance with the privacy policy.

Users may request access to their data or its deletion in accordance with the privacy policy.

6. Data security and confidentiality

The operator takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect user data.

The operator undertakes to maintain confidentiality with regard to internal system information and user data.

Users are responsible for keeping their access data confidential.

7. Prohibition of discrimination

The service is operated in accordance with applicable anti-discrimination laws, in particular the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG).

Users may not use the service to engage in discriminatory behavior.

8. Accuracy of information

Users are solely responsible for the accuracy of all data entered into the service.

The operator does not check balances, financial entries, or user communications.

9. Intellectual property

The software, source code, database structure, design, and content of the service are protected by copyright (Copyright Act – UrhG) and other applicable intellectual property laws.

Users are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service exclusively for its intended purpose.

Any reproduction, modification, distribution, reverse engineering, or commercial exploitation of the service or parts thereof is prohibited unless expressly permitted by law.

Users' legal rights under copyright law remain unaffected.

10. Availability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available."

The operator does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free operation.

Temporary restrictions may occur due to:

  • Maintenance work
  • Security updates
  • Technical problems
  • Failures of the hosting provider

11. Remuneration

The service is provided free of charge.

Should optional additional services be introduced in the future, users will be informed of this in advance; a separate agreement may be required.

12. Liability

The operator has unlimited liability:

  • In cases of intent
  • In cases of gross negligence
  • In the event of injury to life, limb, or health
  • Insofar as liability is mandatory by law

In the case of simple negligence, liability is limited to the breach of essential contractual obligations and to foreseeable, typical damages.

The operator is not liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential damages
  • Incorrect data entered by users
  • Financial decisions based on stored information
  • Temporary unavailability
  • Data loss beyond reasonable control
  • Failures of third-party infrastructure

13. Professional conduct

Users are required to communicate respectfully and professionally within the service.

The operator reserves the right to block or terminate accounts in the event of misuse or serious violations of these terms and conditions.

14. Termination of account

The deletion of accounts is governed by the privacy policy.

The operator may suspend or terminate accounts if necessary to protect system integrity or to enforce these terms and conditions.

15. Applicable law and place of jurisdiction

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany.

To the extent permitted by law, the place of jurisdiction is the operator's place of residence in Germany.

Mandatory consumer protection regulations remain unaffected.

17. Final provision

Should individual provisions of these terms and conditions be invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain valid.
